Editor's Note: I have started linking the towns to a homepage for the town, or general information about the town and putting "(map)" next to the town name for the map location. If there is no information about the town, the link will go directly to the map. I also have used a larger scale for the maps to give more perspective. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Day 6

They rode about 55 miles today along flat farmland. They spent the night in Corvallis (map), home of Oregon State University. Along the way, they saw a pollen farm owned and operated by Bayer Pharmaceutical. There they grow pollen specifically for doing research with the pollen for medicinal use. They will not be going through McKenzie Pass (map) as originally planned, since it is still closed for the "winter". They will instead be going through Santiam Pass.

Day 7

The girls started out from their camp in Corvallis (map) in the rain. It rained for the first 40 miles of their 80 (!) mile day. Lucy also got two flat tires. The one interesting thing they saw was the National Clonal Germplasm Repository. A tough day and then they end up camping in an trailer home/RV park in Blue River for the night.

Day 8

Wednesday may have been their best day yet; at least their most content. The day started on a bad note, when they almost ran out of water 9 miles before the summit of one of the mountains. They were surprised there was still snow on the ground when they got to the summit. Their total distance for the day was 60 miles. They got to the town of Sisters (map), where there is some bizarre zoning regulation that all the buildings have to look like they are from the old west. Sort of like a real life Disneyland Frontiertown. Or Westworld. They stayed at a motel called Sisters Motor Lodge. The proprietors, Jim and Tracy Duncan, made the day. They did the girls' laundry for them and said they would make them breakfast in the morning. Lucy and Katherine then had spaghetti for dinner and enjoyed a bottle of the local wine from the Eola Hills Winery, which they said was actually pretty good. For you junk food fans, according to Lucy, they have the best Doritos in the world in Sisters.

They will be sending me a package containing among other things film, so as soon as I get it, I will put the pictures up.
